Visiting Finance Associate (m/w/d)

We are seeking a Visiting Finance Associate based in Berlin for an immediate start. You will be working directly with the Head of Finance on all tasks needed to run the finance function of a fast growing, multinational, Seed Stage venture. Your days will be varied and give you exposure to everything from strategic financial planning & analysis, over closing months, preparing annual reports, to supporting with acquiring equity and non-dilutive funding. This internship provides an opportunity to get real, hands-on experience on what it takes to secure the financial health of a startup.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Finance in maintaining and updating the company’s multi-year financial model, as well as, the 13 week cash forecast
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements, coordinating with our tax advisors to ensure deadlines are met.
Support the identification, application, and administrative management of European and national grants (e.g., ESA, Horizon Europe) relevant to our satellite and atmospheric monitoring mission.
Assist in day-to-day liquidity management, including invoice processing, expense tracking, and preparing payment runs.
Support financial data consolidation between the different entities of our group
Ad-hoc strategic projects like market research, cost analyses or whatever else is thrown our way.
Must Have:
You’re pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration (BWL), Economics or Finance at a German speaking university and have already completed modules on financial- and cost accounting.
You have can-do attitude, like rolling up your sleeves and getting things done
You display high ownership and can deliver projects with little supervision
Fluent in German and English
Nice to Have:
You have specialised your degree on accounting, financial management, investment management or corporate finance
You have gathered first experience in venture backed startups through internships
Your course requires you to complete an internship (Pflichtpraktikum)
