Technical Co-Founder (Full Stack Engineer – Mobile Focus)

How it works: Cache automatically scans your purchase receipts from email to help you understand the market value of what you own. We allow users to list items for sale with a single click. We’re transforming resale from a hassle to a habit and redefining how people engage with their closets—unlocking clothing as a liquid, tradable asset class, making it as easy to resell fashion as it is to trade stocks.

Why it matters: Fashion is a major global pollutant, accounting for 10% of carbon emissions. In the U.S., over 95% of discarded clothing is recyclable, yet more than 85% ends up in landfills. Meanwhile, consumer closets hold $2.1T in idle inventory, but only ~5% of these items ever reach the resale market. Unlocking this dormant supply can significantly reduce waste by offsetting demand for new production.

You’re hungry to ship fast, own core architecture decisions, and scale a solution that makes real-world impact.

As Technical Co-Founder, you’ll work closely with the CEO (Devyn, ex-MBA/JD, Moda Operandi, ELLE) to shape Cache from the ground up—product, infrastructure, AI integrations, and beyond.

Full-Stack Development: Build and scale our mobile-first platform using React, Next.js, React Native (Expo), Django, and PostgreSQL.

AI & ML Integration: Implement and refine models for receipt parsing, LLM-based classification (OpenAI/Gemini), resale predictions, and image processing.

Cloud Infrastructure: Own GCP, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE) setup, ensuring uptime, performance, and security. Use Redis and job queues for scalable processing.

Data Automation: Create robust pipelines for email parsing, HTML scraping (BeautifulSoup), image matching, and vendor-specific logic via tools like Scrapingbee.

Secure Auth & APIs: Manage Firebase Auth, OAuth 2.0, and restricted Google scopes for secure user access and integrations.

Mobile & Chrome Ext: Lead development of our Expo mobile app and maintain a Chrome extension for DOM-based item detection.

Frontend Polish: Deliver seamless user experiences with Tailwind CSS, responsive layouts, and SEO-optimized pages.

Product Co-Creation: Collaborate with Devyn (CEO) and users to iterate on features grounded in real behavior, feedback, and resale friction points.

Innovation-Driven Dev: Stay ahead of the curve on LLM tools, developer trends, and AI resale applications to future-proof our stack.

Build Engineering Team: Help recruit and manage technical talent as we scale post-seed.

5+ years in full-stack or mobile development, ideally at startups or early-stage ventures

Strong in Python, Django, React, React Native, Next.js, and PostgreSQL

Experience with GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)

Background in LLM-based automation, ML integration, or image/text classification

Comfort with data extraction, scraping, and automation pipelines

Security-first approach to auth and API design

Proven ability to work autonomously and iterate quickly

Experience with AI-coding tools

You've been a founder or early engineer at a startup

You know the resale space, fashion tech, or e-commerce
