About This Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven person to manage and develop Strategic Partnerships within our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to build a robust network of leading academic and clinical collaborators in the neurodegenerative space. Your work will be pivotal in sourcing biological data through various channels and driving innovative projects to successful outcomes. As one of the early hires at cfdx, you will have the chance to take on a variety of additional responsibilities and opportunities as we continue to grow.

We expect this role to span San Francisco and London, and this role will require travel between those two locations and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership Development: Curate and maintain a network of top-tier academic and clinical collaborators focused on neurodegenerative research. Collaborate with our CEO to identify and secure partnerships with research institutions, biotech/pharmaceutical companies, and commercial providers. You will own the funnel from lead generation to close so must excel at both cold and warm outreach, pitching and closing.
  • Data and Sample Sourcing: Source biological data and patient samples through partnerships, grants, commercial providers, and innovative strategies to support our research initiatives. You will be required to utilize creative thinking to source resources through innovative and diverse means.
  • Grant Acquisition: Explore and secure grants and funding opportunities to support our research initiatives, including managing reporting & budgets
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the formulation and execution of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic initiatives that align with cfdx's mission and goals, ensuring sustained growth and impact.
  • Project Management: Initiate, manage, and be accountable for projects stemming from partnerships by engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring effective execution and successful outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Be a team player and proactively contribute to other top priorities at cfdx as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience sourcing and building productive strategic partnerships in biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries in both the US and the UK.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with large budgets up to £30M.
  • Strong network within the academic and clinical research communities, especially in the neurodegenerative field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive them to successful outcomes.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven capacity for significant personal and professional growth.

Desirable Requirements

  • Successfully built prospective bio-sample collection studies.
  • Transformed collaborations into revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Well-versed in utilizing public biological datasets.
  • Contributed to optimizing progress within a biotech startup.
  • Experience with diagnostic products.
  • Experience with health system partnerships, including private clinics and NHS.
  • Experience changing care pathways.
