Responsibilities

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the onboarding, training, and performance of field sales team / canvassers to ensure effective territory coverage and achievement of sales targets. This role includes strategic planning, team performance evaluation, and driving operational excellence to maximize sales and productivity within the assigned territories.

Sales Strategy And Execution

Gather market insights and sales analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives. Provide clear communication on sales strategies, including programs, territory focus, and product penetration targets. Lead the team in implementing these strategies for excellent market execution.

Performance Management

Monitor and analyze canvasser performance against defined sales targets. Set clear objectives, review progress, execute corrective actions, and report achievements to stakeholders.

Skill Enhancement

Identify skill gaps within the team and provide targeted training, coaching, and ongoing support. Monitor the execution of training programs to ensure the team operates at optimal performance levels.

Productivity Optimization

Identify requirements and areas for improvement in canvasser productivity. Implement enhancements, track performance metrics, and ensure effective utilization of resources.

Territory Management

Analyze data to provide insights on territory potential, ensuring strategic allocation of canvassers. Lead initiatives for managing territory coverage and optimizing opportunities for sales growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a coordinator for field sales representatives (canvassers), preferably in FMCG or retail.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales strategy implementation and customer relationship management.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting with strong business acumen.
  • Strong selling and territorial management skills.
  • Proven leadership and coordination skills in managing field sales representatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Independent, with a focus on execution excellence and operational results.
