The honest pitchMost jobs for psych and sociology grads in Manila are call centers or HR admin. This isn't that.
We're an AI-powered microfinance company lending to sari-sari store owners, market vendors, and carinderia operators. We run on a model called JAG - Joint Accountability Group - where borrowers support each other instead of relying on collateral. It only works if someone shows up, builds real trust, and holds people accountable without being a debt collector about it.
That someone is you.
If you studied psychology or sociology because you actually wanted to understand people and help them — not because you wanted a thesis topic — this is the job where that matters every single day.
What you'll actually do1. Run JAG group meetings (this is the core of the role)
- Sit down with groups of micro-retailers, weekly or biweekly
- Listen to what's actually going on in their business and their life — cash flow problems, family issues, whatever's affecting their ability to pay
- Coach them through it. Not a lecture. Coach.
- Confirm payments have been made, flag issues early, and keep the group accountable to each other — that's the whole point of JAG
- Build genuine relationships. These are not "accounts." You'll know their names, their stores, their kids.
2. Help build a member initiative we're piloting
- This is a community lending and member-rewards initiative, still early-stage
- You'll help formalize how it actually runs and execute it on the ground — meetings, member engagement, eventually tiers and referral structures as it scales
- Real input into shaping a program from the ground up, not just executing someone else's playbook
- A motorcycle, car, or a real way to get around Las Piñas, Parañaque, Bacoor, and Cavite City reliably. Travel allowance provided.
- Bachelor's degree from UP, Ateneo de Manila (ADMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), or UST
- Psychology or sociology background (fresh grad or junior, 0–2 years) — degree or strong coursework
- Comfort talking to people who are stressed about money, without making them feel judged
- Discipline. You'll be out in the field, mostly unsupervised. We need people who show up and do the work without someone checking on them every hour.
- Tagalog/Filipino fluency for the areas you'll cover (essential — these are community conversations, not scripted calls)
- Any exposure to community organizing, social work, fieldwork, or financial literacy programs
- GCash familiarity (you'll be using it constantly)
- A real seat in a fast-growing fintech, not a back-office role
- Direct ownership of a member initiative as it grows — your fingerprints on something from the ground up
- Competitive salary + benefits
- Travel allowance for fieldwork + commissions
- Actual mentorship from founders
