We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer who wants their work to matter. Someone who cares deeply about reliability and performance because the systems they build operate in real markets, in real time. You have proven experience building production systems where latency and reliability are first-order concerns - trading infrastructure, market data, real-time telemetry, or similar.

You are strong in Python and have production experience with event streaming and time-series storage. You've operated systems with sub-second latency requirements and understand what it takes to keep them reliable when the inputs misbehave. Experience with Rust or C++ is a plus, but not a requirement. Importantly, you want ownership, not a ticket queue.

What You Will Do

• Build and evolve the data infrastructure at the heart of our optimisation platform, ingesting energy market price feeds, EV charger telemetry, and grid signals across latency profiles
• Develop the backtesting and simulation framework used daily to validate optimisation and dispatch strategies
• Improve latency and reliability across the stack, directly affecting the quality and speed of decision-making in live traded markets
• Scale the platform to support 10x asset growth while maintaining performance, resilience, and operational simplicity
• Work closely with software engineers, optimisation specialists, and the wider team to ensure models are built on trusted, production-grade data systems
