About the Eskwelabs x TechUp partnership

Eskwelabs is partnering with TechUp to bring the first Philippine cohort of TechUp's highly regarded full-time Full Stack Software Development Bootcamp. This collaboration aims to empower Filipinos with the skills needed for tech careers through an intensive program that covers everything from foundational coding to advanced software engineering practices.

About TechUp

TechUp is an online coding school that runs full-time and part-time courses for individuals who want to start a career as a software developer or software engineer. Our full-time bootcamps target people with no prior programming experience; take them through 4 months of intensive training in tech skills, soft skills, and career skills; and connect them with job opportunities at our employer partners. Over the past 2 years, we have succesfully supported over 100 students in launching their software developer careers. This year, we are partnering with Eskwelabs to offer our full-time bootcamps in the Philippines, and are recruiting a part-time Lead Instructor to support and guide students along their learning journeys.

Role scope

We are seeking a part-time Lead Instructor to coach and guide our bootcamp students to become high-caliber junior software developers. Key tasks will include:

  • Leading classes and group exercises

  • Guiding and coaching students as they work on coding assignments

  • Reviewing student assignments and providing feedback

  • Serve as Product Owner and Project Manager during student final projects

Work hours for the role will be 9-11AM plus 4-5PM from Monday to Friday. The work contract will be from 21 October 2024 to 24 January 2025.

Required attributes

  • At least 4 years of full-time work experience as a software engineer, with experience in web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and NodeJS
  • Experience in teaching/coaching is a big plus
  • Self-starter and able to drive initiatives with limited guidance in a fast-changing startup environment
  • Highly coachable and able to receive and incorporate feedback regularly
