Principal Backend Engineer - FERO

Our team in Spain is currently seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are looking for talented, self-motivated individuals with deep expertise in AWS and a passion for data.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: FERO values innovation and quality. As a Principal Backend Engineer, your role is crucial to our mission. You will design and guide the development of high-performance, scalable, and testable code within our architecture.

Architect and Develop: Lead the technical design and development of scalable products, focusing on performance, scalability, quality, and testability. Drive innovation by spearheading our RESTful API initiatives and preparing for exciting future developments.

Performance and Scalability: Employ cutting-edge technologies to boost system performance and tackle scalability challenges. Mentor the team on best practices.

Quality and Testability: Ensure the highest standards of code integrity through comprehensive test-driven development and continuous integration frameworks.

Innovation: Stay at the forefront of technology, with a readiness for potential explorations like SDK development and language migration. Lead the team in adopting new technologies and methodologies.

What You Must Bring

• At least 5 years of experience as a Backend Developer, with extensive hands-on expertise in AWS services and infrastructure.
• Exceptional proficiency with Python and its frameworks such as FastAPI, Django.
• Expertise in both relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Extensive experience in designing and working with REST APIs.
• A strong willingness to bridge development and operations, with a deep understanding of DevOps practices.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and projects.
• Working permit in Spain.
