About FERO

FERO is building the next generation of eCommerce payment technology. We help merchants maximize conversion, streamline operations, and deliver seamless checkout experiences through our Smart Checkout platform, payment orchestration, merchant tooling, and data-driven insights. Our mission is to make online payments faster, smarter, and more profitable for merchants worldwide. We're a fast-scaling startup where product decisions ship quickly and every team member has real ownership. You'll join at a moment where the products you launch will directly shape how thousands of merchants get paid.

About the role:

We're looking for a Technical Product Owner to run the delivery engine for our central Data Team, the group behind product analytics, GTM enablement, and payments reconciliation.

You'll own the backlog and the execution, turning requests from across the business into a prioritized, well-groomed pipeline the team can actually execute against.

This is a hands-on, delivery-first role. You'll be as comfortable running a sprint as you are writing a ticket for a reconciliation fix, chasing down a stuck dependency, or explaining to the CEO why one report is ahead of another in the queue of priorities.

What You´ll Do

  • Own the backlog and board for the Data Team across all of its workstreams: data infrastructure/engineering, ML/conversion modelling, product analytics, GTM enablement, and payments reconciliation
  • Run agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and act as the day-to-day decision-maker on sequencing and scope
  • Write clear tickets, define acceptance criteria and prioritise ruthlessly across workstreams that don't always compete on the same terms (a reconciliation bug vs. a model improvement vs. a reporting request)
  • Act as the single point of intake for requests from the CEO, Head of Product, GTM, and Finance, translating asks into scoped, estimable work rather than letting the team get pulled in every direction
  • Coordinate dependencies between the Data Team and Engineering, Finance, and GTM stakeholders so work doesn't stall waiting on other teams
  • Protect the team's focus: flagging scope creep, unclear requirements, or competing priorities before they become fire drills

What we are looking for:

  • 2–3 years of experience in a project/delivery management, Scrum Master, or Product Owner role, ideally for a data or analytics team. Project management is the core of this role, not a side skill
  • Working knowledge of SQL and comfort navigating data/analytics concepts: enough to understand what the team is building, sanity-check outputs, and have a credible conversation with analysts and stakeholders, not to build the reports yourself
  • Proven experience running scrum or kanban for a technical team, with a track record of healthy velocity and clean backlogs
  • Comfortable working across multiple domains at once (analytics, GTM tooling, financial reconciliation) without needing deep subject-matter expertise in each: you know how to ask the right questions and scope the work
  • Comfortable operating with dual reporting lines (Head of Product and CEO) and reconciling two sets of priorities into a single roadmap
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills: you can say no, reorder, and defend a roadmap under pressure from multiple stakeholders, including leadership
  • Structured communicator who can turn ambiguous requests into clear tickets, specs, and decisions
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with shifting priorities and high ownership
  • Exposure to payments, reconciliation, or finance-adjacent data domains

Nice to have:

  • Experience running delivery for a data/analytics team specifically (rather than a pure product engineering team)
  • Familiarity with Jira/Atlassian tooling, Linear, or similar board-based workflows
  • Experience reporting directly to founders
  • Experience in fintech/payments or another regulated industry

What we offer:

  • High-impact work with fast feedback loops (from week 1)
  • A setup that rewards hustle: you help us get organised, we help you grow fast
  • Clear path to owning more of the Data Team's roadmap and process as we scale
  • Permanent contract.
  • Private health insurance (partially covered).
  • Hybrid work (3 days office / 2 remote).
  • Office in a central location in Madrid.
