The People Operations Specialist is a new role for our team! We are looking for someone who can help maintain our people-first culture while ensuring operational excellence and HR compliance across our teams and locations. With a curious mindset and a passion for Human Resources, the People Ops Specialist will handle day-to-day operations and support our team by offering exceptional experiences throughout the employee journey.

You are a bar raiser, which means you come with

  • 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources Administration

  • Excellent attention to detail, data orientation, and experience using an HRIS and other administrative tools (experience with Rippling is a plus!).

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence team members and engage across all levels of the organization.

  • A collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to connect and work with team members across teams and geographies.

  • Experience and interest in leveraging AI tools to work more efficiently, enhance ways of working, and deliver innovative HR solutions.

  • A strong understanding of HR best practices and compliance requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing employee lifecycle processes and preparing associated documentation, including onboarding, internal transfers, role and salary changes, and offboarding

  • Serving as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and HR procedures

  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS data

  • Assisting with benefits administration, primarily for Canada and other locations as required

  • Continuously improving our processes by leveraging feedback, industry best practices, and trends

  • Presenting updates, insight, and ideas to your manager and/or leadership on process improvements and outcomes

  • Using HR technologies and AI to streamline management and improve the Homie experience

  • Ensuring consistent, accessible documentation for all policies and programs.

  • Working closely with our Payroll, Accounting, and Finance teams to ensure best practices

  • Contribute to and drive participation in employee engagement activities and initiatives
