Interior Designer
Design · Full-time
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India
HouseCanvas is a design-led home interiors and execution brand from the founders of HouseEazy, one of India's fastest-growing resale real estate platforms. We help homeowners turn a newly bought resale flat into a home that feels designed for them, with transparent pricing, a clear BOQ and on-time handover.
Role
We are hiring an Interior Designer who will own a set of HouseCanvas clients end to end: from the first consultation, through design presentation, BOQ led to booking, to execution handover and post-handover satisfaction. This role blends design craft, client consultation and project ownership, and it carries a sales-conversion responsibility for the projects you design.
Key responsibilities
- Own an assigned set of HouseCanvas clients from the first meeting through design finalisation, BOQ sign-off and order booking.
- Understand each client's lifestyle, family needs, taste and budget, and translate them into practical, buildable design concepts.
- Present designs, moodboards and 3D views persuasively at the experience centre, on site or online, and close design iterations within the agreed revision cap.
- Prepare accurate BOQs and quotations within HouseCanvas modules and pricing frameworks; walk clients through true cost, payment milestones and value versus local alternatives.
- Recommend relevant upgrades in finishes, hardware, lighting, loose furniture and decor where they genuinely serve the client.
- Plan spaces and create layouts, furniture plans, working drawings, elevations and 3D renders using SketchUp, AutoCAD and rendering tools.
- Design modular kitchens, wardrobes, storage and TV units alongside false ceilings, lighting, wall treatments and loose furniture.
- Select materials, finishes and FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) that balance aesthetics, durability and budget.
- Own the quality and accuracy of design deliverables, with zero-defect drawings issued to production and site.
- Hand over complete, production-ready designs to project managers, factory and site teams; stay involved through execution to resolve design queries.
- Conduct site visits at key milestones to check that work matches design intent, quality standards and timelines.
- Coordinate material selection, procurement and installation feasibility with execution partners, and be present at final handover.
- Ensure client satisfaction through the project and after completion.
- Track material trends, new products and price movements to keep designs current and BOQs competitive.
- Contribute to standard design modules, packages and SOPs that make HouseCanvas faster and more consistent as it scales.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture (B.Des, B.Arch or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
- 3- 6 years of experience in residential interior design.
- Hands-on modular experience: kitchens, wardrobes and storage (KWS), and a working knowledge of core materials, finishes and hardwares.
- Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD; working knowledge of a rendering tool (V-Ray, Enscape, D5 or similar) and PowerPoint for presentations.
- Ability to prepare and explain a BOQ and quotation confidently.
- Strong communication in English and Hindi, with clear, persuasive client presentation skills.
- Ability to run several client projects in parallel and meet timelines.
Good to have
- Experience at an organised interior platform or design studio (Livspace, HomeLane, DesignCafe or similar).
- A proven record of design-to-order conversion and upselling on premium projects.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and digital project trackers.
- Please share a portfolio of residential projects with your application; it is reviewed before the first interview
