infrared.city is a start-up and spin-off from the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). We make environmental simulations accessible to architects, designers and urban decision makers. Using state-of-the-art deep learning models, we predict simulation results in real-time, revolutionizing environmental design and architecture with unprecedented speed to insight. You will have a multifaceted role, combining applied research and development. You will be directly working with and reporting to our CSO and CTO. We are currently a small team, looking to quickly double in size, and you will be at the very core. Here is what you ‘ll do:

• Applied research on sustainability and environmental analysis methodologies
• Guide the team and the product in regards to it’s simulation offerings
• Educate team members on best practices
• Combine your expertise with research on ML methodologies to create state-of-the-art AI models.
• Create comprehensive datasets and train our AI models

Essential skills:

• 3-5 years of professional experience in environmental methodologies and setting-up, running and interpreting simulations in tools such as Ladybug, Honeybee, Pollination, Radiance, Open Foam, Envi-Met etc.
• Strong knowledge on Environmental Simulations
• Programming proficiency in Python or C# and familiarity with Git workflows.

Nice to have:

• Experience generating datasets for training machine learning models
• Skills in front-end or back-end programming
• Experience transforming technical expertise into scalable products.
