infrared.city is a start-up and spin-off from the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). We make environmental simulations accessible to architects, designers and urban decision makers. Using state-of-the-art deep learning models, we predict simulation results in real-time, revolutionizing environmental design and architecture with unprecedented speed to insight. Your main focus will be the development of our AI aspects of our SaaS product. You will be directly working with and reporting to our CSO. We are currently a small team, looking to quickly double in size, and you will be at the very core. Here is what you ‘ll do:
- Lead the development of core features
- Write high quality and performant code
- Contribute to technical ideas and suggestions to enhance the direction of the product
- Set and maintain high quality standards and processes: tests, CI/CD, DevOps, documentation
- Build and deploy scalable data generation pipelines across different modalities
- Build prototypes and minimum viable products to validate new AI-driven concepts across different modalities
- Work with backend engineers to develop and test scalable infrastructure to support AI workloads
- Continuously monitor and optimize models to improve performance over time
- Stay up-to-date on the latest LLM and VLM research and identify opportunities to incorporate state-of-the-art techniques
- Work with computer vision and multimodal models to build integrated AI systems

Essential skills:
- 1-2 years experience developing applications with language and computer vision models
- Proficiency in Python; experience with frameworks like Flask, Streamlit
- Experience in backend development in languages such as Python, C#, NodeJS, Go or Rust
- Comfort in Git workflows
- Working in Agile environments
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with computer vision and experience with multimodal models
- Familiarity with LLMOps tools and techniques for responsible LLM deployment
- Familiarity with frontend development using React, Vue.js, or Angular
- Experience using AWS and AWS CLI
- Experience with containers and container orchestration
