Internship Description:
As a Materials Engineer Intern, you will dive into the world of textile materials & fibers, collaborating with our chemistry intern and CPO to explore, test and improve our products. Your role will be vital in analyzing material compositions, investigating sourcing possibilities, and helping us design and develop new versions of our product range to ensure environmental performance and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability and materials science in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.
The internship is approximately 6 months, ideally full-time at 37 hours per week, or part-time at 20 hours per week, depending on the candidate's availability. The preferred start date is ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and analyze different textile waste streams and their material compositions.
- Collaborate with our chemistry intern.
- Conduct desk research and engage with suppliers to identify sourcing opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of our product range.
- Assist in assessing the environmental impact and circularity potential of materials.
- Document findings and help build a materials knowledge base.
- Stay informed about trends in resource-efficient textiles and insulation technologies.
- Have fun and grow your skills in a supportive team!
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Materials Engineering, Textile Technology, Sustainable Design, or a related field.
- Strong interest in reducing resource use, minimizing waste, and innovating with materials.
- Knowledge of materials characterization, testing methods, and LCA is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- A self-starter mindset - curious, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Good verbal communication skills in English - Danish is not required.
- Ideally, the candidate is based in or near Copenhagen, including Malmö, Sweden. While the role offers flexibility, it would be amazing if you could visit our office once or twice during the internship.
