About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Klearly, you will take a leading role in developing and optimizing our payment infrastructure to ensure it is scalable, secure, and reliable. You will build and maintain backend systems that enable seamless integrations with payment partners and acquirers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features that drive the business forward.

This role requires deep expertise in backend technologies, payment standards, and strong problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to shape the core technology powering Klearly’s innovative fintech solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of our backend payment infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security

• Build and maintain systems that support seamless integrations with payment acquirers and partners

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features aligned with business goals

• Ensure high performance, low latency, and fault tolerance across all backend systems

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in backend development, with a strong background in payments

• Expertise in Node.js and AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and VPC

• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB

• Familiarity with payment industry standards and technologies, including PCI-DSS compliance, BIN routing, transaction ledgers, and SoftPOS (strong plus)

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset
