ABOUT CHENNAI ONE

Chennai One is India's first unified public transport ticketing platform, built by the Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA) and launched in September 2025 by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The platform brings together MTC buses, suburban trains, metro rail, and auto services into a single digital experience — enabling commuters to plan, track, and pay for journeys seamlessly. With over 12.5 lakh registered users and 70 lakh+ tickets sold, Chennai One is on a mission to become Chennai's primary mobility platform.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an Operations Executive, you will be the face of Chennai One on the ground. Your primary mandate is to drive adoption and usage of the Chennai One platform by owning key relationships at transport depots, activating conductors and depot staff, and converting commuters into active digital users.

You will operate with significant ownership — managing a defined territory, building trust with transport stakeholders, and delivering measurable business outcomes for the platform.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement

● Own relationships with Branch Managers, Assistant Managers, and depot staff across your assigned territory

● Act as the primary point of contact between Chennai One and ground-level transport operators

● Build trust and sustained engagement with conductors — the most critical lever for on-ground adoption

Business Outcomes & Adoption Driving

● Drive active usage of the Chennai One app at depot and commuter level within your zone

● Execute conductor activation programs to increase digital ticketing volumes

● Track and grow key metrics: app downloads, tickets sold, and conductor participation rates in your territory

Field Execution & Commuter Outreach

● Conduct daily depot visits and structured engagement activities to sustain platform visibility

● Run commuter-facing awareness sessions and on-ground activations to drive first-time and repeat usage

● Identify friction points in commuter adoption and relay actionable ground-level insights to the central team

Reporting & Operational Rigor

● Maintain accurate daily activity logs using Excel-based reporting tools

● Share weekly updates on territory performance, key wins, and blockers

● Collaborate with the central operations team to refine on-ground playbooks based on real world findings

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Have

● Strong communication skills in Tamil (mandatory) and English

● Comfortable managing relationships across multiple stakeholders — from senior depot managers to field conductors

● Proficient in Excel and basic digital tools for tracking and reporting

● Willing to travel extensively across Chennai as part of daily operations

● Results-oriented: understands that success is measured by business outcomes, not just activity

Good to Have

● Prior experience in field sales, field operations, or community engagement roles

● Familiarity with Chennai's public transport ecosystem

● Demonstrated ability to manage independent workloads with minimal supervision
