We have an amazing team of talented engineers and we’re looking to add a Senior Back End Software Engineer to our onsite team in Lahore, Pakistan. As a Senior Back End Software Engineer, you play an important role in making sure we maintain the quality and reliability of our growing products. We are a product-led, fast deploying company and you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of web applications and software systems. Your primary focus will be on the implementation of efficient and scalable server-side logic, database integration, and data storage solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front end developers, designers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

💪 Responsibilities

1. Designing and developing efficient, scalable, and maintainable server-side applications and systems.
2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including front end developers, designers, and project managers, to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
3. Building and optimizing backend infrastructure, including APIs, databases, and server architecture, to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
4. Writing clean, readable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and industry standards.
5. Implementing security measures and data protection to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
6. Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to junior team members to improve code quality and maintainability.
7. Troubleshooting and debugging issues, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions.
8. Collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy and manage applications in production environments.
9. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and recommending their adoption when appropriate.

🤔 Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. 3 plus years of professional experience as a Senior Back End Engineer, with a strong focus on server-side development.
3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Javascript and Node.js.
4. In-depth knowledge of backend technologies and frameworks, such as Express.js.
5. Experience with database systems like PostgreSQL, including data modeling and optimization.
6. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
7. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
8. Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
9. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
12. Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
13. Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) at our Gulberg (Lahore) office with occasional nightly team syncs with US/Mexico time zones

• We may ask for a paid one week to one month Validation Period before offering a full contract
