Some call it business developer, some call it account executive. We call it our first business and sales hero in the team!
This is a unique opportunity for a dutch speaking, curious, creative, and entrepreneurial business developer or account executive. You will be the first sales hire, set up a winning sales playbook, find true product-market fit together, and bring Passionfruit to a new era of business growth throughout Europe.
As our business and sales hero, you will work directly with the founders to fully understand the customers' pain points, experiment with the right growth initiatives to fuel the pipeline, be a brand ambassador, build up the team, and, of course, close the deals we jointly set up. This role is perfect for a creative salesperson with a few years of B2B SaaS sales experience already. You love to spot new business opportunities and understand how to connect the right dots between people and within companies. Without a doubt, you should be excited to be part of the sustainability and generative AI boom.
Our Mission
Join Passionfruit on its mission to prepare 10,000 consumer goods companies for a new era of transparency. This industry demands more transparency on sustainability, quality, and food safety. Managing and sharing this compliance information should be seamless and actionable, but currently, it’s the opposite. It’s overwhelming, painful, and full of administrative tasks that take loads of valuable time from sustainability and quality teams. Time that should be spent making an impact. We are here to change that.
Our Approach

- Lars (CPO)- Built the first version of Passionfruit. With 7 years as a product designer, developer, and expert in the field of Gen AI, he's the creative brain behind our product's consumer appeal.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The first 6 months will be focused on understanding the market, becoming a real brand ambassador, and creating the sales pipeline. After those 6 months, the focus will shift to building a winning sales playbook, keeping fueling the pipeline, closing deals with the founders, and creating a winning sales machine.
- Understand the market: Know the market, its challenges, potential customers, and spot new business opportunities that make a difference for the customer.
- Voice of the customer: Create a feedback loop to the team, impact the product roadmap, and find the right product-market fit together.
- Build the first playbook: Set up a sales playbook to grow from 10 to 1000 customers and beyond.
- Create a sales machine: Experiment with growth initiatives and learn what works and what doesn’t. Scale up the machine. Set up and hire the right team over time.
- Build pipeline and close own deals: Create winning opportunities for yourself and the founders, qualify leads, and partner with the founders on closing new customers.
- Brand ambassador: Join business events, be active on LinkedIn, and visit (potential) customers in person. You are a true brand ambassador offline and online.
What Sets You Apart
We don’t expect you to tick all the boxes, but you should feel below profile describes you really well. Above all, you should be excited about our mission, tech, and product.
- Problem-solving skills: bachelor level problem solving while having a ‘get stuff done’ mentality.
- B2B SaaS experience: 2+ years of experience in B2B software sales. Ideally, some first closing experience. A big plus if in start-up/scale-up/own entrepreneurial environment.
- Curious and creative: Curious by nature, always putting the customer at the heart. Creative, always excited to spot new opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Loves to connect with different people: Understands how to find the right people and connect the right dots between and within companies. Combines business acumen and empathy when talking with different layers and stakeholders within organizations.
- Research skills: Understand complex topics quickly and the superpower to make them easily understandable for customers.
- English and Dutch: Excellent communication skills, fluent in both English and Dutch.
- Tech-savvy and industry expertise: Experience in the food or manufacturing industry is a plus. Excitement about Gen AI tech and how to snake up the traditional compliance segment is essential.
