We are currently seeking a proactive, ambitious Head of Legal and Compliance to establish our Legal and Compliance Department. This department is intended to minimize overall compliance risk and serve as a safeguard against unforeseen compliance issues.

Role Overview

As the Head of Legal and Compliance at Pensify, your role will pivot around acting as a mediator and advisor, providing key insights into regulatory requirements and strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for overseeing the legal framework that supports our position as a mediator in the financial sector, ensuring compliance with a broad range of financial regulations, and facilitating effective relationships between various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mediator and advisor to the business, supporting and guiding on regulatory and strategic matters.
• Oversee and update legal frameworks to align with our role as a financial mediator.
• Engage in collaborative projects across departments to ensure a harmonious balance between regulatory compliance and business interests.
• Lead initiatives to establish and maintain effective partnerships and collaborations in the European financial sector.
• Monitor and manage legal and compliance aspects of partnerships and negotiations.
• Educate and raise awareness within the company about the importance of a balanced approach to compliance and mediation.
• Stay informed about a broad spectrum of financial regulations and ensure Pensify's adherence to these.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with financial partners, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Requirements

• An academic degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal/compliance role within the financial sector, with a preference for experience in mediation or advisory roles.
• Proven track record in managing legal frameworks in financial services, with a broad understanding of financial regulations beyond MiFID II.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
• Strong skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex legal concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating partnership agreements is highly desirable.
