Job Description for Sr. DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable and secure infrastructure using automation tooling in pipelines. You will be passionate about building a modern platform for software and data teams to deploy safely and efficiently. Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain a modern microservices platform for product and data teams
• Build and maintain automated pipelines to provide a path-to-production as a service
• Ensure platform reliability, repeatability and consistency by automating processes
• Experiment alongside a cross-functional engineering and data team on emerging technologies
• Iterate production systems to adopt new technologies and methodologies
• Build and maintain observability tooling with automation to proactively discover and resolve incidents
• Support cross-functional incident postmortem processes to support engineering and product wide learnings from incidents
• Maintain appropriate documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing
• Take part in out-of-hours on-call incident response rotation

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience working with AWS in a production environment.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (optional)

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience maintaining and deploying highly-available and fault-tolerant
• Practical experience operating containerization platforms (Kubernetes/ECS)
• Experience with microservice architecture applications
• Expertise with AWS (or equivalent hyperscaler public cloud) using services including IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, ACM, DNS, Cloudwatch, RDS, Redis, S3, ECR, EKS).
• Version control system experience (we use GitHub)
• Experience implementing CI/CD (we use TravisCI, GitHub Actions and FluxCD).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (we use CloudFormation, Helm)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills
