We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise and leadership experience to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Python (Django), Have some hands-on experience on Go and Rust is a bonus, and be comfortable working across a variety of technologies and platforms. You will drive the engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions while fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, overseeing development processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of projects. While technical skills are essential, the role requires a focus on leadership, mentoring, and strategic planning.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback, helping team members grow in their careers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical requirements and project timelines.
Technical Ownership:
- Oversee the architecture, design, and development of high-performance, scalable, and secure software systems.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance when needed, with expertise in Python (Django) (Go, and Rust will be a bonus).
- Encourage best practices in coding, architecture, testing, and deployment.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define the engineering roadmap and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and QA teams to ensure systems meet quality and reliability standards.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple verticals simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery, within scope and budget.
- Use agile methodologies to drive sprints and lead the team through prioritization and backlog management.
Strategic Growth & Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies, and proactively recommend ways to innovate and improve the team’s workflow and codebase.
- Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy for the engineering organization.
Technical Expertise:
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with proficiency in Python (Django) and/or similar technologies.
- Experience in full-stack development, microservices architecture, and API design.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
- Ability to work across different programming languages and frameworks; a language-agnostic mindset is essential.
Leadership & Management:
- Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams with a focus on people development and performance management.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for building high-quality software solutions.
- An eye for identifying bottlenecks and improving processes and technical workflows.
Communication:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architectures).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, automated monitoring, etc.).
- Experience working in agile environments and driving sprint-based workflows.
- Exposure to data pipelines, distributed systems, and real-time services.
