Software Engineering Intern — LATAM (Remote)

About SellAbroad

SellAbroad is a cross-border payments and Merchant of Record (MoR) platform. We help e-commerce businesses sell internationally by handling the payments, routing, and compliance behind checkout — integrating with acquirers and payment providers, running the orchestration layer that routes each transaction, and operating the checkout and tokenization stack. We're a distributed team headquartered in Dubai.

About the internship

This is a hands-on internship for someone early in their career or still studying. You'll work on scoped, real projects with a clear owner and regular feedback — not busywork. The goal is for you to ship something that's actually used by the end of it, and for strong interns this can convert into a full-time junior role.

What you'll work on

  • Building small internal tools, scripts, or dashboard features under guidance.

  • Helping integrate and test third-party APIs (payment providers, vendor services).

  • Writing and improving automated tests.

  • Investigating bugs and data issues, and proposing fixes.

  • Documenting how things work as you learn them.

What we're looking for

  • Currently studying computer science / software engineering, a recent graduate, or self-taught with projects to show.

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript (our entire stack is TypeScript).

  • Basic understanding of how web applications and APIs work.

  • Conversational-to-professional English.

  • Based in LATAM and able to work EST business hours.

  • Curiosity and the ability to figure things out — we care more about how you learn than what you already know.

Nice to have

  • Any exposure to databases, Git, or cloud services.

  • Interest in fintech or payments.

  • A side project, GitHub profile, or portfolio.

What you get

  • A mentor and structured feedback throughout.

  • Real exposure to how cross-border payments infrastructure is built.

  • A clear path to a full-time junior engineer role for strong performers.
