We’re looking for a Chief Technology Officer to join Spoony — a fast-growing social app for neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled people. The app is live, scaling quickly, and already changing lives. Now we’re looking for someone to lead the next chapter of our technical journey.

As CTO, you’ll take ownership of our engineering team, shape our technical direction, and use AI to build smarter and faster. You’ll work closely with the CEO to scale the platform, grow our impact, and help redefine what accessible, inclusive tech can look like.

About Spoony

Spoony is the social app for the neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled community. It’s a safe, stigma-free space to make friends and find support. Backed by venture capital, we’re on a mission to transform the lives of billions. Spoony is more than just an app — it’s a movement that’s redefining what it means to be neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled.

About you

  • You’re a builder. You like to move fast, solve real problems, and ship things that matter.
  • You know how to use AI — not just as a feature, but as a way to build more efficiently and do more with less.
  • You’ve led or built products in early-stage environments and can balance speed with stability.
  • You care about inclusion and accessibility — and want to use your skills to build something meaningful.
  • You’re ready to go all-in as a co-founder and shape the future of a company from the ground up.

What you'll do

  • Lead engineering across the entire stack — infrastructure, architecture, and execution
  • Leverage AI tools and frameworks to increase development speed and product sophistication
  • Scale the platform to support tens of thousands of daily users
  • Make key technical decisions that balance speed, cost, and long-term scalability
  • Establish dev workflows, processes, and a strong engineering culture
  • Help build and lead a world-class engineering team
  • Work closely with the CEO/founder on product strategy, fundraising, and company vision

What you bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience (ideally full-stack)
  • Proven experience scaling real-world products, ideally in early-stage startups
  • Deep knowledge of modern development tools and AI-driven workflows (LLMs, agents, APIs, automations)
  • Strong systems thinking and architecture skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership qualities
  • Bonus: experience building social platforms, health tech, or accessibility-focused products

If you’re excited by the idea of using technology to build a safer, more connected world for people who’ve long been excluded — we’d love to hear from you.
