Tangle Campus is a Netherlands headquartered student engagement and campus community platform built for large universities. We help institutions improve student enrolment, engagement, wellbeing, and campus experience through a private and secure digital platform. Our mission is to help students discover their aspirational universities, build meaningful connections, and find their community throughout their university journey.

We are now looking for a founding Sales & Business Development leader in India to help build and scale our institutional presence across universities and higher education institutions.

This is not a traditional corporate sales role. We are looking for someone entrepreneurial, relationship-driven, persistent, and excited about building in an early-stage environment.

We’re not looking for someone to fit into a system — we’re looking for someone to help build one.

What You’ll Do

You will be Tangle Campus’ first hire in India — owning the full institutional sales motion from pipeline creation to contract closure.

Your primary focus will be private universities and deemed institutions, with institutional deal values typically starting from ₹25L+ annually.

You will work directly with the founders and have significant autonomy in building the India GTM (Go-To-Market) playbook from the ground up.

As the company scales, you will also have the opportunity — and responsibility — to be one of the founding members of the India Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end institutional sales across universities in India — from prospecting through to signed contracts
  • Build and manage the full sales funnel including lead generation, relationship building, demos, negotiations, procurement processes, and closures
  • Develop strategic partnerships within the higher education ecosystem including relationships with university leadership, administrators, registrars, chancellors, IT heads, and academic decision makers
  • Work closely with founders on GTM strategy, positioning, and product-market fit
  • Help establish and scale Tangle Campus’ India presence
  • Build and hire the India team as revenue and operations grow
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline including pipeline management, forecasting, deal tracking, and reporting cadence
  • Identify and manage channel partners, consultants, or reseller relationships where relevant
  • Represent Tangle Campus at industry events, conferences, and institutional meetings

What We’re Looking For

  • 8-10 years of experience in EdTech, Higher Education, LMS/SIS platforms, student engagement, or related sectors
  • Strong track record of closing large and complex institutional deals
  • Existing relationships and network within universities and higher education institutions in India
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder enterprise environments
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment (for e.g. work without much operational support, like Marketing team, HR, communication teams)
  • High ownership mindset with strong execution ability
  • Persistent, proactive, resilient, and highly driven
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Someone motivated by building long-term value and impact
