We're looking for a motivated Frontend Developer Intern to join our dynamic tech team at xNomad. This position is ideal for someone keen on growing their software development skills in a fast-paced, real-world setting. Working closely with our experienced team of developers, you will contribute to enhancing the front-end of our platform, making it more efficient, intuitive, and user-friendly.

Company Description

xNomad is a marketplace for popup stores that connects brands with unique retail & vacant pop up spaces. Our mission is to become the AirBnb for Retail and make booking of a retail space as convenient as booking an apartment through AirBnb.

There are at least 20.000 vacant spaces in Stockholm right now and our goal is to fill these spaces with amazing pop up experiences. 1/10 spaces globally are estimated to be empty. Retail is currently going through a transformation and we at xNomad believe that pop-up is the future of retail.

Working closely with the founders, you will be a vital part of our team. Your role will be included in the inner circle as we’re still a small company in significant growth. You will get great insights into the way of running a successful startup. Through this role you will be able to grow into a Chief of Technology as well as build and scale your own team as the tech lead.

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should have experience or familiarity with the following:

• HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: for building web pages and applications
• React: for creating intuitive, interactive UIs
• Knowledge of API interactions and data handling
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git: for tracking changes and collaborating
• Exposure to CSS preprocessors (SASS or LESS): for styling web pages
• Understanding of responsive design principles: for mobile-friendly development
• Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Basic understanding of how to optimize web applications for speed and scalability

Other skills that would be desirable but not essential

• Typescript
• GraphQL
• Next.js

Qualifications and Experience

We value potential as much as experience. As such, our expectations for this role are:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Any previous internship or project experience related to Frontend Development would be beneficial
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles of web design and user experience
• Eagerness to learn and work in a fast-paced, startup environment
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for finding innovative solutions
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
