Role Overview
The People & Culture interns supports various human resources functions, focusing on payroll, compensation and benefits, performance management, HRIS, and industrial relations. This role involves assist in processing payroll, maintaining employee records, administering benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. The intern will also coordinate performance appraisals, support employee development initiatives, and utilize the HRIS to manage data and generate reports efficiently.
Reporting to the Manager, People & Operations, the intern will assist in handling employee grievances and maintaining adherence to company policies and labor laws. With responsibilities spanning administrative tasks and employee relations, this role provides valuable exposure to HR processes.
Responsibilities
1. Payroll Management
- Assist in preparing and processing monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in Maintain payroll records and handle employee inquiries related to compensation
2. Compensation & Benefits
- Support the implementation and administration of employee benefits programs.
- Update and maintain records of salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentives.
- Ensure compliance with tax and labor regulations for compensation and benefits.
3. Performance Management
- Assist in coordinating performance appraisals and maintaining relevant documentation.
- Track and monitor key performance indicators for employees.
- Provide administrative support for employee development and training initiatives.
4. HRIS Management
- Input and update employee data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Generate reports and ensure data accuracy in the system.
- Assist in leveraging HRIS for efficient record-keeping and analysis.
5. Industrial Relations
- Support in drafting and maintaining employee contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in handling employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies during dispute resolution.
6. Administrative Support
- Maintain organized employee files and HR documentation.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the People & Culture team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in management, psychology, business administration, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; internship experience in HR is a plus.
- Basic understanding of labor laws and HR principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the HR field.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards challenges and responsibilities.
