About YoboLabs

We’re building Yobo, an AI Growth Marketer that businesses can hire and work with directly through WhatsApp, Slack, and iMessage.

Instead of giving businesses another piece of software they have to learn and manage, Yobo works more like a member of the team. Yobo researches the business and competitors, identifies growth opportunities, creates campaigns and content, helps execute across channels, follows up on what’s working, and proactively recommends what to do next.

We’re now growing in the US and looking for a few entrepreneurial students to help us figure out how Yobo reaches its next 1,000 and eventually 10,000 users.

The role

This is not a traditional marketing internship.

As a GTM Engineer Intern, you’ll work directly with the founding team to design, launch, and measure real growth experiments.

Your goal is simple:
Figure out repeatable ways to get Yobo in front of the right businesses and turn that attention into users and customers.

Depending on your strengths, you might focus on one or more areas:

Social & Content Distribution

  • Grow distribution across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit and other channels
  • Find creative ways to increase reach and engagement
  • Repurpose and distribute founder and company content
  • Engage creators, founders and relevant conversations
  • Experiment with new content formats and distribution tactics

Communities

  • Find communities where founders, marketers and business owners already spend time
  • Participate in Reddit, Facebook, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord and other communities
  • Build relationships with community owners and influential members
  • Test ways of introducing Yobo that create genuine interest rather than spam

Outbound & Partnerships

  • Identify high-potential companies and users
  • Develop personalized outreach experiments
  • Reach founders, marketers, agencies, consultants and creators
  • Find partnership and distribution opportunities
  • Turn conversations into Yobo trials and customers

Growth Engineering

  • Use AI and automation to make GTM experiments faster
  • Build lead lists and enrichment workflows
  • Automate research, personalization and follow-up
  • Experiment with tools such as Clay, APIs, AI models and lightweight scripts
  • Build internal tools that help successful experiments scale

How you’ll work

We don’t want you spending a semester just completing assigned tasks.

We want you running experiments.

A typical week might look like:

  1. Identify a growth hypothesis
  2. Design the experiment
  3. Launch it quickly
  4. Talk to real prospects or users
  5. Measure what happened
  6. Improve it or kill it
  7. Scale and automate what works

You’ll have access to the founders, our team, AI tools and real customer data and feedback.

You’ll be measured primarily on learning and outcomes, not hours spent making presentations.

What we’re looking for

We’re less interested in your major or GPA than what you’ve actually tried to build, grow or sell.

You might be a good fit if you’ve ever:

  • Built a side project
  • Grown a social media account
  • Sold something online
  • Built a newsletter or community
  • Organized a campus group or event
  • Done cold outreach
  • Created content that got meaningful distribution
  • Built AI automations or workflows
  • Used tools like Clay, n8n, Zapier or APIs
  • Found unconventional ways to get people’s attention

You should be:

  • Resourceful. You figure things out without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Experimental. You’re comfortable trying 10 things to find the one that works.
  • Very online. You understand how people discover, share and talk about new products.
  • AI-native. You naturally use AI to research, create, automate and move faster.
  • Outcome-oriented. You care whether something generated users or customers, not just whether the task was completed.

Technical skills are helpful but not required. We care more about curiosity, speed and initiative.

Details

  • Location: Berkeley / Bay Area, hybrid
  • Commitment: Approximately 10-15 hours/week
  • Duration: 12-16 weeks, with potential to continue
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly base pay + performance bonuses
  • Start: As soon as possible

We expect to work together in person periodically in the Berkeley / Bay Area, with the rest of the work flexible.

Top-performing interns may have opportunities to continue with YoboLabs in larger roles.

Why join

You’ll get to work directly with startup founders on one of the hardest and most valuable startup problems:
How do you create distribution from zero?

You’ll have the opportunity to run experiments yourself rather than watching someone else do the work.

If we find something that works, we’ll give you the resources to scale it.

And if you’re exceptional, we’d like this internship to become the beginning of something longer.
